Happy 2013!!!!

Thank you for all the wonderful gifts. I really appreciate all that I received. I hope your Winter Holiday and New Year was wonderful We are back to the swing of things here in Room 502. Here is some of what is coming up in the next few weeks.


Progress Reports will be passed out to students Wednesday 1/23/13. Please sign and return as soon as you receive the progress report.

Science: Chapter 8 Test (TBD) Please check the blog soon to see the date of this test. We have fallen a little behind in this chapter so the test had to be postponed.

Friday, December 14th: Science- Chapter 6 Test (5th grade- weather) (4th grade- Rapid changes on Earth)

Tuesday, December 18th: Wordly Wise Test- Lesson 8

Wednesday, December 19th: 4th grade- Topic 13 Test (Algebra Part II) and 5th grade- Topic 16 Test (Algebra Part II)

Parent- Teacher-Student Conference Week

Please remember that this week we are having report card conferences. Remember that your child needs to attend the conference as well. Please call or email if you do not remember your conference date and time.

5th Grade Field Trip

The 5th grade field trip is on Monday, November 26th, which is the first day back after the break. Please make sure your child arrives on campus by 7:45 am at the latest to ensure that we leave on time for the trip. Lunch is provided for them, so they do not need to pack a lunch but they must bring their homework from the break. They also will not need to bring a backpack or money on the trip either.

4th Grade Field Trip

Reminder: The 4th graders are traveling to the Computer History Museum on Friday, November 9th. They need to pack a lunch for the trip; please write their names on their lunch as well. Students need to arrive at school by 8:15. We do not leave for our trip until about an hour later. We will return to school approximately 2:35pm. Thanks.

Test Moved

The Social Studies Test was moved to Thursday, November 8th to allow students more time to study. The Wordly Wise Test is also that day.

Social Studies

Native American Summary Test: Wednesday, November 7th 

Students researched and created a codex for a Native American Group. The test will require them to write about their own Native American group and one of the groups that their classmates studied. They also will need to identify on a map the locations of all the tribes studied in their grade level.

Wordly Wise
