5th Grade Field Trip
The 5th grade field trip is on Monday, November 26th, which is the first day back after the break. Please make sure your child arrives on campus by 7:45 am at the latest to ensure that we leave on time for the trip. Lunch is provided for them, so they do not need to pack a lunch but they must bring their homework from the break. They also will not need to bring a backpack or money on the trip either.

4th Grade Field Trip
Reminder: The 4th graders are traveling to the Computer History Museum on Friday, November 9th. They need to pack a lunch for the trip; please write their names on their lunch as well. Students need to arrive at school by 8:15. We do not leave for our trip until about an hour later. We will return to school approximately 2:35pm. Thanks.

Halloween
The Halloween Parade will be held October 31st at 1:00pm. Students should come to school in their common dress and bring their costumes to school in a bag. Please remember in consideration for the younger students no outfits that are super gory and make sure that these outfits are school appropriate. Also, no weapons are allowed with their costumes as well. We are not having a class party but if your child bought some candy to share with their classmates, they will have an opportunity to pass out that treat.

Awww Science Camp is over and Project/Test Dates
A Special Thank You to all the parents who donated books to our class library we appreciate it greatly and love reading all the new novels.
The 5th grade students had a wonderful time at Walden West Science Camp. Hopefully, this has made the 4th graders excited and ready for next year. But now it is back to the daily grind of school.

For 5th Grade Parents: Science Camp
Science camp is the week of September 24th. Please submit $275 and all necessary paperwork by Friday, September 21st. If your child takes any medication ( including epi-pens and skin creams for excema), we must have the goldenrod paper from the Walden West packet completed by a doctor or we are not authorized to give them their medication.
Please label all luggage and sleeping bags with your child's name and Northwood. Those items are taken separately to Walden West.
Your child needs a bag lunch for Monday. Please pack only what they will eat; your child is not allowed to keep food in the cabin even snacks. Anything extra will be thrown away, so only pack what your child can eat.

Open House and Chaperones
Open House and Science Fair is Thursday, May 24th, 6pm. Come and view your child's work in the classroom.

State Testing
State Testing begins this week. We will start testing Science: Thursday, May 3rd and Friday, May 4th of this week. Next week, we will test Monday through Thursday ( 2 days of ELA and 2 days of Math consecutively)
We will be testing every morning as soon as school starts. Please make sure your child is on time everyday of testing. Also, please make sure they are present at school as not to have to take multiple parts of the test on the same day.

Our Changing Bodies Video
Good Morning Parents,
It is that time of year. The time to show the students the video on puberty. But before we show the video to the students we offer the parents an opportunity to check out the video. Conferences
March Conferences
Conference week is March 12th- March 16th. Today, I sent home with some of the students the paperwork for you to select a conference date and time. If your child did not receive one of these papers, you will receive their report card in the mail. However, if you would like to schedule a conference with me, feel free to email and I will make sure that you have a conference date and time.
March 7th, I will have a substitute and will be holding conferences during the day like I did in November. So, please consider that day as well for your conference.
State Report: The Final Copy
The final copy of the state report is due March 16th. The students and I need all your support to make sure that these reports are typed and ready to be turned in by that date. Feel free to e-mail or call with any questions about the report.
