What's Happening Now!
Hello Parents!!!
As October draws to a close, we are accelerating our pace in the classroom. Thus making life fun and hectic in Room 502.
On Friday, of this week, your child will be taking a language arts test that will cover: compound sentences, types of sentences, sentence fragments, slang vs. Standard English and diagramming a sentence.
Tuesday, November 1st, Bio card on Explorer is due.
Also, if you have not signed up for a conference be on the lookout for a paper to sign-up. Conference week is the second full week in November.
Reminder: New for this year, the Halloween parade is in the morning at 8:45am on Monday, October 31st. Students should come to school in their costumes and bring with them their common dress to wear after the parade.

Change of Plans
Progress Reports: I am sending home progress reports with the students, Friday, October 7th. Please look over their current grades and sign the progress report. We have a little over three weeks for them to improve or maintain their grades.
So, due to our schedule this week we had to change the date of the math test. On Monday, the students will take the test. The test will cover adding/subtracting/multiplying/ and dividing decimals.
The children are currently working on their Native American Project. They are creating a codex. We will be working on that assignment in class everyday, until Friday, October 14th. Students will then have to finish the project and turn in the final codex on Monday, October 17th.

Picture Day and Back to School Night
Picture Day is Wednesday, September 28th. The kids have to wear common dress for the pictures but I told them they can spruce up their look with their hair or accessories. Or if they were very nice to their kind loving parents maybe they would be able to buy a new white top to wear. But of course, just a suggestion.
