Our Changing Bodies Video

Good Morning Parents,

 

 It is that time of year. The time to show the students the video on puberty. But before we show the video to the students we offer the parents an opportunity to check out the video. We will be showing the video in Room 501 at 5pm ( one hour before the Walk-A-Thon) on Thursday, April 26th. This is a parents only event. The students will have an opportunity to watch the video later. Feel free to attend and we will answer any questions you might have about the video. Thanks.

States and Capitals

We are currently studying the 50 states and capitals. Every Friday, we will be having a states and capitals test. All leading up to the final test that includes all 50 states and capitals. Spelling counts, so please review the spelling of the states and capitals as well as where it is located on the map.

The next test will include these states:

•  Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut
• New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey
• Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio
• Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa
•  Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida
• Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama
• Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana 
• Remember students must know the Capital, not just the state.  

ST Math

For those students working on Area and Perimeter or Volume on JiJi, I have assigned it as homework. So, if you are on those levels you can work on it over the break. Spread the word to your fellow classmates. Thanks.

Spring Break Assignments

Happy Easter and Happy Spring Break!!

Here are the assignments your child has for over the break. 

All assignments are due Monday, April 16th. 

Area and Volume Packet- There also is a test on this topic as well on Monday. All students were required to take home their math textbook to use as a study aid. 

The Fighting Ground Writing Assignment- This is a multi-paragraph essay, please make sure that they are working on it early so that it can be their best writing. (Quickwrites also due rewritten on lined paper)

Science Fair Project- Start project or finalize topic for project.

Friday, March 30th: Math-Percent ( Ratio, Relating Decimals, Fractions, and Percents; Finding the Percent of a number)

Thursday, April 5th- Wordly Wise Lesson 14 Test

Finally, the day has come the state report is due tomorrow, right on time at 8:15am. Do not be absent, if you are sick ask a parent or sibling to turn the report in for you. I look forward to reading the final drafts.

Math Test and upcoming events

Multiplying and Dividing Fractions test will be on Wednesday, March 14th.

State Report is due Friday, March 16th.

Monday, March 19th- Science Fair Topic is due ( Your child needs to select from the textbook, a science fair project book, or the internet an age appropriate project) Please make sure that your child has an interest in the area that they picked.
